An official transcript must be mailed to CRCC after you have graduated. The internship verification form is to be mailed after all of the hours have been completed. CRCC will only release your examination results after the transcript reflecting the granting of your Master’Äôs in Rehabilitation Counseling and verification of the completed internship hours have been received.

The purpose of the supervision requirement is to permit the certified individual to share, and to ensure that the applicant has the opportunity to access, the certified individual’Äôs knowledge, skills, and abilities. For individuals who cannot meet this requirement at the time of their application, CRCC has developed a means to acquire the necessary supervision. It is called Provisional Supervision. Please review section 6, Provisional Supervision, of the Certification Guide Book.

Answer (5)

If you are a student applying for Category G, the application fee is $105. The application fee for all other categories is $155. You will be required to submit the examination fee when you are determined eligible.

CRCC recommends that you review the definitions to make a reasonable self assessment as to how well the course descriptions and course syllabi for the courses you have taken meet the definitions.

Notification of accommodation needs must be made at the time of application. All requests for exam accommodations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The candidate must provide a letter on official letterhead from a physician or other licensed specialist that documents the diagnosis, treatment provided, and last date of treatment, and which explains the need for the requested accommodations. Further, the letter must include the specific accommodations currently requested. To request an alternative examination administration for religious reasons, candidates must submit a letter on official letterhead from their minister or rabbi. This letter must confirm the candidate's affiliation with a recognized religious group that observes its Sabbath on Saturday.

Yes, any continuing education activity that satisfies a focus area described in this book can be submitted for approval on a post-attendance basis. The procedure is as follows:

a) Complete a copy of the application located in the Renewal/CE Guide Book
b) Attach proof of attendance or completion
c) Submit the required processing fee

The processing fee is $10 per program or if you have completed four or more programs in a single calendar year (January 1 through December 31), you may submit the documentation for all at the same time and pay a flat fee of $35 per calendar year.

Answer (13)

No, since continuing education is intended to keep certificants current with emerging trends and technologies, it may be applied ONLY to the current certification cycle.

Answer (14)

Yes, with one exception. CRCC requires original transcripts to document course work taken at colleges or universities. Any copies submitted must be legible. Note that as of January 1, 2003, CRCC no longer returns continuing education or certification renewal documentation, so it is advisable to make copies of anything you send to CRCC.

Answer (15)
Once certified, you must renew your certification every five years.

Answer (16)

CRCC offers two options for renewing a certification, both of which require completion of a renewal application and appropriate fees.

Option 1: CRCs and CCRCs may document 100 clock hours of continuing education, of which 10 must be in ethics. CRCs who hold adjunct designations (MAC and/or CS) must evidence 10 clock hours in ethics and a portion of the remaining 90 hours in their specialty. Refer to the Renewal/CE Guide Book for additional information.

Option 2: CRCs and CCRCs may re-take the certification examination and achieve a passing score. The exam must be taken on the first exam date following expiration of certification. CRCs who hold adjunct designations (MAC and/or CS) must, in addition to re-taking the CRC exam to renew their CRC certification, evidence a specific amount of continuing education in their specialty in order to renew the adjunct designations. Refer to the Renewal/CE Guide Book for additional information.
