The CRC is the premier credential among rehabilitation counselors, ensuring certificants are of good moral character, meet nationally accepted standards of quality in their practice, and have the requisite educational and professional background. The CRC credential can lead to job placements, job advancement, salary advancement, and both medical and non-medical referrals.
In a 2007 survey of CRCC certificants, well over 75% of respondents agreed that the CRC was an important part of their professional identity; that it indicates a high level of qualification; and that it sets people apart from others in the profession. The majority of CRCs also agreed that the credential allows them to advance faster in their career with greater earnings potential.
