CRC Exam as a Comprehensive Exam

Several Rehabilitation Counselor Education Programs have been successfully using the CRC Exam (CRCE) as their program’s comprehensive examination. In order to use the CRC Exam as the program's comprehensive examination, print the required forms and submit to CRCC.  View or Print Required Forms

The CRC Exam is offered three times per year with release of results quickly following the close of each eight-day testing period. This allows results to be available prior to most university graduation schedules.

If you are considering use of the CRC Exam as your program’s comprehensive exam, here are some fast facts to consider:

  • Students must apply for the CRC certification in accordance with the process described in detail in the CRC Certification Guide. The exam cannot be used as a comprehensive exam independent of the CRC certification process.
  • There is no additional charge to the student or to the university.
  • Alternatives for students may need to be available. In the event a student does not achieve a passing score, the student would not be able to re-sit for the exam until the next test administration.
  • One faculty member will need to be designated as the program’s contact and will be responsible for gathering the required consent forms from students in order to release their pass/fail status to the program.
  • The designated program faculty member will receive an electronic communication from CRCC advising of a pass, fail, or no show status for each student where CRCC has a consent form on file.
  • If a student does not participate in the current exam or does not achieve a passing score, CRCC will require another completed consent form to release their scores for subsequent examinations.
