Educators

The primary purpose of a credentialing process is to ensure that professionals meet acceptable standards of practice in order to serve their clients’ best interests. Accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential is the premier credential for rehabilitation counselors.

For students and graduates, the CRC credential:

  • Establishes a professional identity.
  • Provides a marketable credential that sets them apart from other counseling professionals.
  • Demonstrates the attainment of key competency standards.
  • Enhances consumer protection through required adherence to the Code of Professional Ethics for Rehabilitation Counselors.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to an ongoing upgrading of skills.
The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) works directly with many colleges and universities to provide timely access to the CRC examination. In 2007, more than 500 students from nearly 90 colleges and universities completed the CRC exam. Attaining the CRC credential is the best way to start a promising career in rehabilitation counseling.

The CRC Credential

The CRC is the premier credential among rehabilitation counselors.  Accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the CRC Certification Program ensures certificants are of good moral character, meet nationally accepted standards of quality in their practice, and have the requisite educational and professional background.  As such, the CRC credential enhances job and career advancement opportunities for the certified individual.
