Joint Special Issue on Ethics: A New Ethics Code as a Tool for Innovations in Ethical Practice

A critical resource providing insight and focus
behind the most important ethical issues and Code changes
for rehabilitation counselors.

The latest Special Issue, A New Ethics Code as a Tool for Innovations in Ethical Practice, highlights specific areas containing new standards of practice in the newly revised Code of Professional Ethics for Rehabilitation Counselors (Code) and places these new standards within the context of the evidence-driven and technical process of code writing.

The Special Issue is divided into two sections.  Section I summarizes the methods used to prepare for and structure the writing of the ethics Code and discusses the specific information base used to form the context for writing this specific Code.  Section II introduces the most important issues and Code changes through a series of brief, specifically focused articles on key topics including:

Ø  beneficial relationships

Ø  multicultural and diversity influences

Ø  advocacy and accessibility

Ø  forensic and indirect practice

Ø  electronic and technological issues

Ø  counselor education

Ø  supervision: pre-service and post-graduate

Ø  professional disclosure and informed consent

The Joint Special Issue is the combined effort of the Journal of Applied Rehabilitation Counseling (JARC), the Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin (RCB), and The Rehabilitation Professional (RehabPro).  It may be obtained via the following organizations (fees may apply):
