Maggie Butler is the Director of Disability Issues in the Psychology Office of the APA. She earned her PhD at the University of Iowa where she studied Counselor Education and Supervision with an emphasis on Rehabilitation Counselor Education. She was also a Doctoral Scholar with the Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Ethics at the University of Iowa. Maggie received her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. A CRC since 2006, Maggie previously worked as a rehabilitation counselor with transition-aged youth for the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitation Services. She also worked with college students with disabilities as the Director/ADA/504 Compliance Officer at a four-year liberal arts college in Virginia. Maggie has a passion for organizational ethics and the ethical practices of CRCs in various settings.
