CRCC believes that individuals certified as rehabilitation counselors (CRC, CCRC, CRC-MAC, or CRC-CS) must continue to expand their skills to enhance the quality of services they provide.
The CRCC conducts a Role and Function Study approximately every 5 years to update the examination and ensure the CRC certification process accurately reflects current rehabilitation counseling practices. Consequently, to maintain their certification status, CRCs and CCRCs must renew their certification every 5 years, thus ensuring CRCs continue to serve their clients most effectively.
Certification renewal may be obtained in one of two ways:
- By earning 100 hours of CE, of which 10 must be in Ethics.
- Through re-examination (available to CRCs only).

All certification renewals must be completed through your My Account page. Online renewal applications are available approximately 4 months prior to the certification "valid-through" date.
