The Revitalization of the Certified Vocational Evaluation Specialist (CVE) Certification

We are proud to announce the revitalization of the nationally-recognized CVE certification program, the latest offering to further our mission to increase services for individuals with disabilities. CRCC is partnering with IARP and VEWAA to revive this important credential.

The CVE will be awarded to individuals demonstrating competence in the essential performance areas as evidenced by education, training, and professional experience.

 CVE Certification Eligibility & Requirements

CURRENT CVEs

If you currently hold the CVE certification, you are not required to take the course package. This only applies to new candidates.  Every five (5) years, CVEs must meet the current eighty (80) hour continuing education* renewal requirement to maintain their certification.  Your current renewal date will not change.

LAPSED CVEs (2015 to 2020)

CVEs whose certification lapsed between 2015-2020 can reinstate their CVE through the Amnesty Program.  For more information, please visit our website at https://www.crccertification.com/crcc-amnesty-program-for-cves

CURRENT CRCs

CRCs interested in adding the CVE credential are welcome to enroll in the new CVE Program. Upon successful completion of the program requirements, you will be a CRC, CVE.

Certification in the field of vocational evaluation acknowledges an individual has the education, skills, and experience to provide appropriate vocational evaluation and career assessment services. Passing the rigorous, nationally-accredited CRC exam provided you the opportunity to expand your career. The CVE program provides a pathway to acquire specialty knowledge to complement your current practice and earn the CVE credential.

Application Eligibility & Requirements for current CRCs:

  • Currently hold a CRC in good standing
  • Complete CVE application
  • Pay Application & CVE Certification course package fee
  • Successfully complete the CVE certification online course package, focusing on the foundations of vocational evaluation, concepts and techniques in vocational evaluation, and applications and advanced techniques in vocational evaluation.
    • Successfully complete each course section of the course package, including the  learning activities and assessments.
  • Produce a final capstone project that will be reviewed and evaluated by the CRCC CVE Advisory Panel.


Fees:

  • Application & CVE Certification Course Package: $600


Timeline:

  • Course package must be completed within four (4) months of completing the application and paying the fees.
  • Capstone must be completed within thirty (30) days of successfully completing the full course package.
  • Capstone review and approved within thirty (30) days of submission.


Renewal Application, Fees & Requirements:

  • Every five (5) years, CVEs must meet the current eighty (80) hour continuing education* renewal requirement to maintain their certification. 
  • Pay CVE renewal fee: $405
    • Effective March 2021, if you are a current CRC and adding the CVE credential, the renewal fee will be $205, a discount of $200. This discount only applies when you hold the CRC and CVE credentials. If you allow one of your credentials to lapse, your renewal fee will revert to the full amount of $405.


CURRENT PVE
s, IPEC or ICVEs

CRCC welcomes members of the Professional Vocational Evaluation Registry (PVE), International Psychometric Evaluation Certification (IPEC) and International Certified Vocational Evaluators (ICVEs).

Application Eligibility & Requirements for current IPECs, PVEs, or ICVEs:

  • Complete CVE application
  • Provide letter of PVE, IPEC, or ICVE verification
  • Provide official graduate transcript showing master’s or doctoral degree
  • Pay CVE Application fee


Fees:

  • Application fee: $405


Renewal Application & Requirements:

  • Every five (5) years, CVEs must meet the current eighty (80) hour continuing education* renewal requirement to maintain their certification. 
  • Pay CVE renewal fee: $405
    • Effective March 2021, if you are a current CRC and adding the CVE credential, renewal fee will be $205, a discount of $200. This discount only applies when you hold the CRC and CVE credentials. If you allow one of your credentials to lapse, your renewal fee will revert to the full amount of $405.


LAPSED CVE
s PRIOR TO 2015

CRCC will welcome previously certified CVEs (lapsed prior to 2015). Your new CVE credential will not be retroactive. You will begin a new five (5) year certification cycle and must meet the renewal requirements going forward.

Application Eligibility & Requirements for lapsed  CVEs:

  • Complete CVE application
  • Degree: Minimum of a master’s degree in vocational evaluation, rehabilitation counseling, or related field
  • Pay Application & CVE Certification course package fee
  • Successfully complete the CVE certification online course package
  • Successfully complete each course section of the course package, including the  learning activities and assessments.
    • Produce a final capstone project that will be reviewed and evaluated by the CRCC CVE Advisory Panel.

*CVE continuing education – Effective March 2022, all CVEs will be required to have 5 hours in ethics. The total CE requirements will remain at 80 hours; 5 of the 80 hours must be in ethics.  The CVE Code of Ethics is being revised to reflect current practices.
