Dr. Susan Stuntzner is the Director of Disability Support Services for Southwestern Oregon Community College. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Services and Counseling at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley, where she trained rehabilitation counseling students to work directly with individuals with disabilities across numerous employment settings. She has written three books pertaining to coping and adaptation and/or resilience-based skills: Living with a Disability: Finding Peace Amidst the Storm; Reflections from the Past: Life Lessons for Better Living; and Resiliency and Coping: The Family After. Dr. Stuntzner has also written extensively and developed significant research on self-compassion, forgiveness, and resilience as they relate to individuals with disabilities, developing in the process multiple emotional intervention strategies for persons with disabilities.
