Dr. Tammara Thomas is an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Studies at Winston-Salem State University where she teaches courses in interviewing techniques, case management, and counseling and theoretical approaches in rehabilitation. Prior to becoming an educator, she was a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the Department of Veterans Affairs where she assisted veterans with disabilities in overcoming barriers that impeded their ability to reach their vocational goals and independent living needs. Her research interests include addiction studies, ethics, administration and programming, gender-responsive treatment, and vocational rehabilitation and practices.
